VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV/Gray News) - Police in Washington state say a man repeatedly rammed a rideshare vehicle carrying his wife, causing severe damage and injuring the driver before fleeing the scene.

The incident, which occurred just before 5 a.m. Nov. 15 in Vancouver, was captured in dashcam footage.

The rideshare driver was able to escape and drove to a nearby police station for safety. She was hurt and taken to a hospital for treatment. Police did not say if the passenger was hurt.

Police thanked the driver for her quick thinking, saying she may have saved her passenger’s life.

“We want to acknowledge the incredible courage and quick thinking of the rideshare driver, whose actions likely prevented a tragedy,” said police in a Facebook post.

Police say they are treating the incident as a case of domestic violence. The suspect remains at large, and his name has not been publicly released.

Vancouver Police are investigating and working with local agencies to ensure the safety of the victims involved in the attack.
