LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Two men were arrested in connection with an attempted theft of briskets and other meats from an H-E-B store, according to the Laredo Police Department.

Luis Felipe Ovalle, 33, and Roberto Gomez Jr., 40, were identified as suspects in the March 20, 2026, incident at the H-E-B on 7811 McPherson Road.

A store manager reported that the two men attempted to take several briskets and meats valued at more than $800.

Video surveillance showed the two men entering the store through the pharmacy entrance. Both went to the meat market where one man selected several briskets and meats and placed them in a shopping cart, police said.

The men walked to the pharmacy exit until they were approached by an employee at the exit doors. When asked for a receipt, the suspects left in a gray Chrysler 300.

On April 26, Gomez was served with a warrant for theft. Ovalle was served with the same warrant while in custody at the Webb County Jail for unrelated charges.
