Laredo police host youth festival to combat local violence

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Families have been invited to a youth festival to raise awareness on youth violence.

On Wednesday, June 17, teens and all family members are welcomed from 5-9 p.m. for the Laredo Police Departments ‘Walk for a Change’ which will be held at El Eden Park at 4735 Loma Vista Dr.

The event is targeted to educate teens around the ages of 12-18, on the importance of not getting involved in youth violence, which has seen a recent uptick in Laredo.

Officer Joe Baeza shared in the studio on why it’s important to share on choices, consequences and how to lead kids on the right path.
