Laredo Utilities to begin work on 36-inch water line tie-in
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The City of Laredo Utilities Department will begin work Thursday, Sept. 10, on a 36-inch water line tie-in, according to the department.
Crews are expected to work at the intersections of Kearney Street and Tilden Avenue, as well as Tilden Avenue and E. Price Street, starting as early as 4 p.m., the department said.
The project is anticipated to take 16 hours, according to the department. Residents may experience noise, increased traffic and dust in the surrounding areas during that time.
The Utilities Department said its team will implement several adjustments to the water system. The department said the changes are designed to move water across different areas of Laredo, minimizing the impact on residents and ensuring continued support throughout the work.
Residents may notice water pressure fluctuations during peak hours from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., the department said. Staff will monitor water pressure closely and make any necessary adjustments.
If water pressure or tank levels fall outside of safe operating conditions, the department said it will take appropriate actions.
The department said it will keep the community informed and provide updates as the project progresses.
Officials said their goal is to complete the connection while ensuring water service and pressure remain stable throughout the community.
