(Gray News) - Actor Alan Dysert, known for his role in “All My Children,” died at age 75.

In a social media post, his wife, Michele Dysert, announced his death on Oct. 26.

“Alan lived an extraordinary life. From his humble beginnings as a farm boy in Illinois, he went on to become an actor, musician, writer, filmmaker, producer, and beloved acting teacher,” she wrote.

His cause of death was not immediately confirmed, but Dysert was diagnosed with cancer. In his autobiography, “Lights, Camera, Cancer!,” published in 2023, he wrote about his struggles with a “rare, aggressive and incurable cancer.”

“Alan faced more than his share of health challenges over the years, yet he continued to approach life with determination, humor, and gratitude,” Michele wrote about her husband. “He fought hard for the life he loved, and I was honored to stand beside him through it all.”

In addition to his wife, Dysert is survived by his sons, Cody and Cooper.
