New program provides incentives to college students
An organization is making it easier for some students attending a college by helping them with an allowance.
The South Texas Advancement Resource or STAR is partnering with Laredo College as it looks to provide students with monthly stipends.
The allowances will range from $300 to $500 dollars on a monthly basis, and they will be given to students in the vocational studies including automotive, diesel, and agriculture.
The starting number that will be helped will be 7, but the college hopes the opportunity grows to help more students in the future.
