Rep. Cuellar announces water projects in Webb County
WEBB COUNTY, Tex. (KGNS) - Congressman Henry Cuellar announced two big water projects for Webb County on Monday, July 15.
The first is the Lake Casa Blanca dredging project. Cuellar included language in this year’s Water Resources Development Act to add Lake Casa Blanca to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Lakes Program. This will let the lake get dredging help from the Army Corps. Dredging is the removal of mud and debris from the bottom of the lake.
Congressman Cuellar also announced $20 million for water and wastewater improvements in Webb County colonias. The money, authorized in the bill, will be used for water pipes, house-to-line connections, septic tanks, and floodplain fixes.
We’ll have more details on both projects in our upcoming newscasts.
