Fans enjoy spectacular fireworks display after Laredo Heat win
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Fans of the Laredo Heat Soccer Club were treated to a colorful fireworks show, following the team’s 2-0 win over Twin City on Thursday night, July 3, at PEG Energy Stadium.
Supporters enjoyed free hot dogs while cheering on the Heat, and the night ended with a dazzling fireworks display lighting up the sky as part of the Fourth of July celebrations.
Fireworks have long been a tradition during Independence Day celebrations. The very first Fourth of July fireworks display took place in Philadelphia in 1777 — one year after the signing of the Declaration of Independence — to mark America’s freedom with a spectacle of lights and sound.
If you missed the show — or just want to relive it — we’ve attached a six-minute video of the fireworks display so you can watch all the highlights from home.
