LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A 17-year-old is facing an arson charge after Laredo police say surveillance video shows him lighting fireworks that sparked a grass fire near a home.

The fire broke out in the 5200 block of Opal Rd. on Sunday, July 5.

Police said surveillance footage shows Carlos Omar Lisama getting out of a car, lighting fireworks and leaving the area before the fire started.

Lisama returned to the scene while officers were still investigating, police said. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested him.

Lisama was charged with arson.
