LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge say they’ve taken more than $2.5 million in methamphetamine off the streets.
Officers sent a SUV to secondary inspection Tuesday, Aug. 25, after a K-9 alerted during primary inspection.
Inside, they found more than 280 pounds of what’s believed to be meth hidden in the vehicle.
CBP seized the drugs and the SUV. Homeland Security Investigations special agents are now handling the case.
Port Director Albert Flores said the bust shows the vigilance of officers and the critical role of canines in keeping narcotics out of communities.
