Laredo groups asked to climb for 9/11 memorial stair climb

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Laredoans are being challenged to climb for a cause.

Organizers of the third annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb are calling on fitness groups across the city to participate Friday, Sept. 11, at Sames Auto Arena.

Participants will climb 110 floors, or 2,200 steps, to honor the 343 firefighters and first responders killed on September 11, 2001.

The event is free and open to anyone looking to honor the fallen.

Organizers said they want to fill the arena with community support.
