Hundreds turn out to hear Senate candidate Talarico in Laredo
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Hundreds of people packed the Golondrina Food Park Sunday to hear U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico. Dozens more listened from outside the gates.
Families, college students and first-time voters filled the space.
The city is known for low voter turnout. Kaylie Elizondo, who attended the event, said the turnout stood out to her.
“I think it’s really impressive, because my whole life living here, I’ve always seen that people don’t go out to vote. This is my first time going out to one of these events ever and I think its really cool that so many people are going out to see him an hopefully our city is all blue,” Elizondo said.
Talarico continues his South Texas swing ahead of the November 3 election.
