Professional Experience: I was a news intern at FOX 5 Atlanta for two summers during college. I was also both a news intern and a politics intern at KXAN in Austin during my senior year.

News Philosophy: Journalists are the liaisons between the communities we represent and the people who run them. It's our job to listen to what our communities are saying and get answers on their behalf. News is everywhere and impacts everyone in their own individual ways and it's our responsibility to inform the public using facts while maintaining humanity and compassion.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism with a minor in Business and Public Policy from the University of Texas at Austin. Hook 'em!

Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia

Family: My parents, Lea and Alan, and my three rescue dogs who I consider my siblings, Howie, Daisy, and Penny are all home in Atlanta. I am also blessed to have friends that feel like family in both Austin and Atlanta.

Hobbies & Interests: I am obsessed with trying new restaurants and am an avid foodie! I also love long walks, tanning at the beach, reading a good romance novel, and trying out new workout classes. I also am currently working on improving my golf skills and picking up pickleball!

Favorite Books/Music/Movie: My favorite movie of all time is Devil Wears Prada and my favorite TV series, and comfort show is Sex and the City. I love a variety of music from country music like Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and Chris Stapleton to Sabrina Carpenter, SZA, and Chappell Roan. Currently, I am reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I love it so far, especially because one of the main characters in the novel is a journalist!

Likes Best About the Lowcountry: I love the versatility of the area. One minute, you can be tanning on the beach in Sullivan's and the next you're in downtown Charleston shopping and after that you're learning history at Fort Sumter or Boone Hall! The Lowcountry has something for everyone.

Most Interesting Assignment: During my internship at KXAN, I worked on a long-form piece about OB-GYNs in Texas and how they've been impacted by the abortion legislation the state has in place. I learned so much about how the state medical school's residency programs have changed and how already practicing doctors and patients are feeling the direct impact of those changes.
